Fabrics Used For Women's Lingerie

Just like any other piece of clothing, our underwear is also made of different types of fabrics. Every different design of the bra comes in a different type of fabric. Bras and ladies' lingerie are made using a variety of fabrics like linen, cotton, polyester, spandex, lace, and more. Some bras are also designed with an underwire that is commonly used by women with heavy breasts to hold them in place. These underwires are popularly made using metal, plastic, or resin.

The Right Fabric Is Totally Subjective

The bra fabric also depends on the occasion they are made for. An everyday T-shirt bra is best if made of cotton, as cotton is soft, comfortable and the most recommended by doctors. On the other hand, a sexy ladies' lingerie fabric would mostly be lace or satin because they are light, see-through, and most importantly sexy. The right fabric is totally subjective, based on the occasion, as every lingerie fabric is different. A bra fabric also depends on the type of bra; a sports bra is best made using cooling polyester, and a nursing bra is best made with a piece of stretchable fabric. 

When buying a bra, you need to keep in mind certain things related to the fabric of the bra. The occasion you are buying it for, comfort, your style, how often you would be using it, and the price. Here is a small list of the commonly used bra fabric materials used in making lingerie for women.

Cotton

Cotton is always the top bra material when you are buying a bra that is for everyday use. They are comfortable, easily washable, and also dry easily. It is also budget-friendly. Most health-conscious women prefer cotton as their go-to bra fabric, as it is the fabric most gynaecologists suggest. It feels soft against the skin and does not make you uncomfortable. 

Silk

A bra or underwear made utilising silk feels like a plume against the skin. It is the kind of material used for lingerie for women that is worn on special occasions. Silk is a lingerie fabric for the occasions where you need to look sexy, like on a honeymoon or a date. Silk has a luxurious glow, a feeling of comfort along with the look it adds to the sexy lingerie that you are wearing. 

Polyester

It is a fabric that goes hand in hand with any sportswear and hence is a perfect sports bra fabric. But it can also be used in making other types of everyday bras as well. They provide better support to the breasts and hold them in place. With the cooling property, they absorb the sweat and dry quickly as well. Like cotton, they too do not care much and are long-lasting. 

Spandex

It is another commonly used synthetic fabric in the making of bras. It is a perfect material for lingerie like sports bras, plunge bras and push-ups. They help fit as a fiddle of the boobs and are likewise agreeable. It makes the breasts look in proper shape and feel good. They are durable and also not that costly like the silk lingerie. 

Lace

It is the commonly used fabric for sexy lingerie. It is thin and decorative, adding the spark to the special moments. It makes you feel and look appealing and sexy. Lace lingerie needs a lot of care, though, and that is why it is designed only for special occasions. Lace is used to make the perfect lingerie for sex that you can pack for your honeymoon or wear to a date.
